One of the Top 10 Questions
Combat Masters are
tough, entirely made of steel and tolerant of abuse. That said, many of
the "Seattle" guns have been circulating for 30 years of more.
Detonics Defense Technologies out of Millstadt IL have quietly continued
the spirit of innovation and quality in the new line of Detonics semi-autos. Original Combat Master parts are stocked. Detonics Defense Technologies, LLC. 609 S. Breese Suite101 Millstadt, IL 62260 618-476-3200 (phone) 618-476-3221 (fax)

"Most parts found in the Detonics line of pistols are compatible with the standard Government 1911. There are a few parts that were custom made or designed for the Detonics Comabt Master - the following represents a list of those parts, and their potential suppliers. Thanks goes to Rick Brenemen for compiling this list."
Victory Arms ( victoryarms.com) also carries parts. Their web site interface drives me crazy. The forums are a good place to look if you have the time, hut really, why buy a couple of return springs that have spent the last 15 years in a toolbox, when you can buy brand new in the box?

The former Detonics gunsmith, Richard Niemer, passed away a couple of years ago, and I have become acquainted with a guy who is assisting Niemer's widow in "disposing" of a lot of Detonics parts. If somebody is looking for something specific, I can inquire.

ReplyDeleteHi Dave
ReplyDeleteI’ve not seen a slide for sale-I would suggest the normal trade sites and gun shows for starters. Purchasing a second CM that’s in good shape and using your existing slidless CM for spare parts may be a safer route, especially for the early stainless versions. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I have been collecting Detonics and their parts and components, and advertising when they show up for sale for years. NOT CHEAP let me tell you. Currently I have several first gen( carbon steel) topends. One with the pat pend roll stamp at the the left rear of the side. I also have a stainless steel top end in 45 and another in 9mm.
ReplyDeleteI have acquired a first year of production pistol still retaining the brazed barrel cone & chopped and welded slide.
I don't plan to sell anything I have yet. Still chasing parts. Call me if you want to talk about these awesome pistols. 206-718-5376
